FEATURED: BEN SIMMONS COMMENTS ON NOT ATTENDING CLASS

By  |  0 Comments

Why is everyone surprised Ben Simmons is not going to class? Why do we keep acting like NCAA Division I sports revolve around education?

College basketball may be the worst culprit of undermining a full college experience. With players only needing one season to be eligible for the draft, there is not much keeping top-tier players from jumping to the NBA. Players, like LSU’s Ben Simmons, have little incentive to attend class with big dollars on the horizon.

After earning below a 2.0 GPA, Simmons was benched earlier this season. The freshman forward is also not eligible for post-season awards, like the Wooden Award.
